The following organizations offer on-line and distance learning courses on topics related to microfinance.

1.  echange offers online conferences and distance learning courses on topics related to microfinance.

2.  Njala University, Sierra Leone offers a Foundation Course for Microfinance: a Distance Learning programme for Sierra Leone and Liberia .

3.  PlaNet Finance offers online microfinance training, a Web-Based-Training system delivering self-paced training and tutored training sessions in French and English. Tutored training sessions are training sessions led by a member of PlaNet University .

4.  Rural Finance Learning Centre offers online lessons for self-study aimed at assisting organisations to deliver improved financial services which meet the needs of rural households and businesses.

5.  Southern New Hampshire University - CED offers 11-week online courses in Microenterprise Development taught by experts in the field.  The course offerings can be applied towards a Graduate Certificate in Microfinance Management (GCMM), transferable credit for a Master's in International CED, or taking the courses for non-academic credit and receiving a 'certificate of participation'.

6.  UNCDF Microfinance Distance Learning Program The course curriculum, presented on a CD-ROM, explores why and how microfinance operations grow to provide financial services to poor and low-income people on a sustainable basis. The course brings together advice and best practices from successful practitioners and institutions around the world.

7.  Vietnam Development Information Centre - Distance Learning Microfinance Course is a blend of 4 videoconferences with international microfinance experts and tutoring sessions by accredited Vietnamese trainers, which focus on action learning and case studies.  Participants who complete all the 3 modules will receive a certificate jointly issued by Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), the Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC), the Global Development Learning Network in East Asia and the Pacific, and Vietnam Development Information Center (VDIC).

8.  ILO Business Development Services Distance Program offers courses to obtain a diploma in Market Oriented Small Business Development Services.

9.  Microlinks – USAID Rural & Agricultural Seminar Series is an  adaptable set of tools for trainers, facilitators, and rural and agricultural finance programs. The seminar series is comprised of 9 modules, including PowerPoint presentations, Handouts for each Core presentation, Supplementary materials for each activity, and Facilitator's guidance.

10. Coady International Institute - Saint Francis Xavier University offers a Distance Learning Certificate course in Community-Based Microfinance designed for middle and senior microfinance practitioners with at least three years experience in microfinance. A few spaces are reserved for regulators, policy makers and donors.

11. RMIT University, Australia offers a Postgraduate Distance Education course in Microfinance and Development through its School of Social Science and Planning. Topics covered include microfinance models and methodologies, targeting and outreach, impacts on poverty and the "empowerment" of women, and the microenterprise sector in developing countries. Also examined is the controversial possibility of a trade-off between ensuring that microfinance programs are financially sustainable and maintaining a focus on the poorest clients.

12.World Bank Institute Distance Learning Course - Microfinance for Non-specialists is organized around a series of six modules (video-conferences) of two and a half hour each and feature a combination of experts and practitioners from the microfinance sector. In addition, it offers participants a web access to selected web based papers/documents/case studies to prepare themselves, work on exercises or just for self-learning
